“THE ORIGINAL MASCOT PRINT SERIES” BY REVERE LA NOUE
WHAT ARE THESE PRINTS?
The artwork displayed on this gallery site is created by Revere La Noue and printed with a device that sprays “micro-streams” of archival inks onto super high quality paper with razor sharp accuracy that can replicate every brush stroke, fleck of clay, and wisp of charcoal. It is a process called giclee printing. It is the perfect (and only) form for La Noue’s work as his images are the “surface” of over 50 layers of his own paintings, drawings, photographs. Accessing the latest advances in technology he can mix all of his artwork into a single image. These prints are museum quality pieces that will retain their color and value generations. La Noue works innovatively to make his art both an affordable investment for collectors and the perfect gift for fans.

THE ORIGINAL MASCOT PRINT SERIES
Artistic Interpretations of America’s College Mascots by Revere La Noue
Bull City Arts Collaborative * 401-B1 Foster Street * Durham, NC
The Original Mascot Print Series features artwork depicting the history and spirit behind the collegiate icons loved by millions of people across the country. By using giclee prints as his final form, Revere La Noue mixes layers of organic fine art to create complex images with great depth, texture, and movement. The show will include additional sketches and preliminary works that contributed to the final art in the series.
An unlikely topic for fine art, the pieces are impressions of the mascots embraced by American Universities including the North Carolina Tar Heels, North Carolina State Wolfpack, Duke Blue Devils, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Stanford Cardinal, Maryland Terrapins, Florida State Seminoles and others. La Noue begins each mascot study with extensive research into “the derivation, history, and cultural elements involved with their legends and legacies.”
Unlike most other giclee prints that are simply replicas, La Noue uses giclee printing as a vessel to make original images that are impossible to create in any other format. Taking very high resolution scans of his paintings, drawings, photographs, and archival imagery, La Noue assembles more than 50 layers of media into a single piece of art. His innovative combination of fine art and modern technology is a unique and evolving method that emphasizes story and movement, and one that La Noue attributes to his background in filmmaking.
Revere La Noue is an award winning filmmaker and artist based in Durham, North Carolina. He was a Division I Lacrosse player at the University of Notre Dame where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. He has Master’s Degree in Documentary Film and Video Program from Stanford University. His work has been part of world-class art museums and galleries, national and international film festivals and national television broadcasts.
